Coverage
Swiss Weather covers all 26 cantons and more than 2,200 towns and municipalities, from Zurich and Geneva to the smallest village. Each place has its own page with a forecast computed for its coordinates and altitude.
Data sources
Weather data comes from Open-Meteo, a free, open-source and reliable service aggregating the ICON and IFS models; air quality data comes from the same source. Climate normals are computed from official MeteoSwiss measurements (SwissMetNet, 1991–2020).
Technology
The site uses modern web technology for a fast, responsive and accessible experience on desktop, tablet and phone. A static page is generated for every municipality and its forecast is pre-rendered every night, so the content is readable even without JavaScript.
